Blendshape

A stored facial or body deformation that can be blended in by degree to create expressions.

A blendshape, also called a morph target, is a saved variation of a mesh — a smile, a raised brow — that can be mixed with others at varying weights. Combining many blendshapes produces a wide range of expressions from a small set of authored shapes. Most real-time facial animation pipelines drive blendshape weights over time.
