Speech-to-Text (STT)
Transcribing spoken audio into written text.
Speech-to-text, also called automatic speech recognition, converts a user's speech into text a system can act on. In a conversational digital human it is the first stage of the pipeline, feeding the language model. Streaming STT returns partial results as the user speaks, which helps reduce perceived latency.
