WebRTC

An open standard for real-time audio, video and data transport in browsers and apps.

WebRTC provides low-latency, peer-capable streaming of media and data without plugins. It is the common transport layer for live conversational avatars delivered in a browser. Its latency characteristics make it preferable to conventional streaming protocols for interactive use.
